What we are aiming for
In principle, we pursue two basic strategic models.
01
Value enhancement
Value enhancement of the companies with the aim of an exit or an M&A transaction
02
Growth
Growth through further capital rounds and possible IPO, attractive ROI through profit distributions
As an investment company, we focus on the success of the companies. In the event of an exit, we strive to achieve the highest possible increase in value – regardless of the timing.

The physiological aortic prosthesis
Ascense Medical develops vascular and endovascular prostheses from an elastic material. The material has a physiological elasticity that is very similar to the tissue of the healthy aorta. This elasticity is intended to preserve the aorta's Windkessel function, which mitigates pressure peaks and ensures a more continuous blood flow instead of a biphasic one. The goal is to use these physiological material properties to reduce potential long-term complications of conventional vascular and endovascular prostheses.
"In an aging society, the incidence of aortic disease is increasing and with it the need for vascular and endovascular treatments. The Ascense material platform provides physicians with next-generation medical devices. With the help of elastic vascular prostheses, aortic repairs can improve the long-term health of affected patients."

Pain relief without medication
With VIVO, AURIMOD has developed a product that sets new standards in pain treatment through auricular vagus nerve stimulation. It is easy to use, has few side effects and can be individually adjusted. This minimally invasive method combats chronic pain effectively, sustainably and without the use of medication.
"We want to give people with chronic pain back a self-determined and healthy life without restrictions. This goal motivates us every day to do our best to find new and sustainable solutions to pain."

Intelligent imaging for musculoskeletal diseases
ImageBiopsy Lab's AI platform helps physicians and healthcare professionals transform X-ray images into accurate diagnostic findings. The company's portfolio includes solutions for knee, hip, leg, hand and spine and is currently deployed at more than 160 sites in Europe and the US.
"Our software is trained on the basis of artificial intelligence using thousands of X-ray images. This allows doctors to draw on the collective knowledge of thousands of clinical experts. This significantly increases the accuracy and consistency of the diagnosis and gives the doctor more time to focus on the patient's specific medical history."

Next generation tissue engineering
MorphoMed develops and tests regenerative grafts made of medical silk. The highly complex textile structures are used on the one hand to regenerate defects in the shoulder joint, and on the other hand to reinforce a damaged cruciate ligament. The silk serves as a guide structure for the build-up of new ligament or tendon tissue, whereby the silk itself slowly degrades. In addition, Morphomed is developing a patented process for obtaining the body's own stem cell concentrate, which is used in autologous regenerative processes.
"Our technology could help hundreds of thousands of patients with joint damage return to a normal life, including sports activities. We see ourselves as a leader in ligament and tendon regeneration and in the use of autologous stem cells."

Simplify miniaturization
NanoVoxel is the first full-service provider for industrially manufactured high-precision micro components. Using state-of-the-art 3D printing systems and extensive expertise in areas of micro injection molding as well as cavity manufacturing, NanoVoxel delivers components with resolutions in the micro and nanometer range, from prototypes to series production.
"Product life cycles are getting shorter, technologies are developing rapidly and components are getting smaller and more efficient. This makes the production and fast delivery of high-precision micro parts increasingly important. With our service, we handle multiple industries with a wide variety of microcomponents and applications – and in record time."

Making paralysis a thing of the past
Regenera is developing a special stem cell therapy for people with acute spinal cord injuries. With the help of a combination treatment with biomaterial and stem cells, the damaged tissue is to be gradually led to (self-)regeneration, thus restoring the functionality of the spinal cord.
"Every year, around 250,000 people worldwide are affected by spinal cord injuries, mostly with complex and permanent secondary indications such as neurological impairments. In preclinical studies with our combination therapy, we have already been able to increase the motor performance of affected individuals by up to 60 percent."

A new era in high-resolution 3D printing
In addition to hardware, operating software and printing materials, the young high-tech company UpNano also offers customers comprehensive support and services for the manufacture of plastic microcomponents. With its lead product NanoOne, UpNano has the world's fastest high-resolution 3D printing system on the market. It enables the production of components with structural details of unimaginably small size in the range of 150 nanometers. With the aid of add-on modules, it is also possible to print living cells or optical components on the tip of an optical fiber. The application areas of the systems are almost inexhaustible, both in research and in the industrial environment.
"NanoOne not only impresses with its speed and the application possibilities it offers, but also with its small footprint. With an edge length of less than one meter, it is by far the most compact in its class. For such specific applications, however, it's not just the hardware that counts, it's much more the interplay between hardware, software and the printing materials. That's why it was particularly important for us to offer our customers a holistic package."
